It sits inside the RiskWatch risk workspace and shares its data with assessments, the evidence vault, and the audit-pack export so a single change updates every downstream view.

How do I use the Recommendations for Risk Assessment Application screen?

Open the RiskWatch app, navigate to the Recommendations for Risk Assessment Application module from the main menu, and apply the filters or actions described in the guide below. Permissions follow your role profile, so admins see configuration, assessors see workflow actions, and viewers see read-only data. Saved views and filters persist per user across sessions.

User Guide: Recommendations for Risk Assessment Application

Welcome to the Recommendations sub module of our Risk Management application! This feature allows users to create Recommendations. This guide will walk you through the functionality and capabilities of the Recommendations module in detail.

  1. Overview of Recommendations

In a risk assessment product, the "Recommendation" sub-module (or sometimes called "Action Plan" or "Risk Treatment Recommendation") is used to capture and manage follow-up actions or suggested controls aimed at mitigating, reducing, or eliminating identified risks.

To cater to diverse user needs, the Recommendation module supports multiple languages. You can select your preferred language from the dropdown menu located at the top of the screen. This ensures that your Recommendation sub module is accessible and understandable across global teams.

  2. How to open Recommendation sub module in Risk Assessment product?

Recommendation module can be accessed from below navigation

  • Navigate to Main Menu
  • Select Risk Register module
  • Select Recommendations sub module menu
  1. How to create New Recommendation in Risk Register sub module in Risk Assessment Product?
  • Go to Risk Register screen
  • Click on Recommendation sub module
  • Recommendation sub module home page should be displayed.
  • Click on + icon in recommendation sub module home page.
  • Fill out the following required fields, such as
    • Recommendation: It is Mandatory field in new recommendation page.
    • Recommendation Category: When user creates new recommendation category from Global Register newly created recommendation category should be displayed in Recommendation category dropdown in new recommendation page.
    • It is mandatory field.
    • Status Type: In status dropdown field we have 2 options Active & In Active. While user creating recommendation if user select recommendation as “Active” then that recommendation should be displayed in recommendation .If user selected “In Active “and created recommendation means it will not display in recommendation home page.
    • Details: In this field we will explain about recommendation.
    • Initial Cost: For this recommendation how much cost initially we are giving.
    • Annual Maintenance Cost: How much annual maintenance cost is happening for this selected recommendation.
    • Recommendation Owner: When user creating new recommendation user can select recommendation owner from recommendation owner field dropdown.
    • Priority Dropdown: Recommendation priority we can select in this field.
    • Control Effectives: The “Control Effectiveness” field in the New Recommendation section of the Risk Register module in a Risk Assessment product is used to evaluate how well existing controls are working in mitigating a specific risk. It helps guide whether a new recommendation (i.e., a corrective or mitigating action) is needed — and if so, how urgent or extensive that action should be.
    • Recommendation Types: In this field we have 2 recommendation types those are mentioned below:
  • Standard
  • Temporary
  • Life Time: The “Lifetime” (sometimes labelled “Life Time”) field in a Recommendation within the Risk Register module of a risk assessment product defines how long that recommendation is expected to remain active, in effect, or valid before requiring review or renewal.
  • Life Time (In Years): How many years you want to use this recommendation.
  • Click on ‘Save’ button
  • Recommendation saved successful message should be displayed on the page.
  • Recommendation can be created from Excel upload screen & Action + icon .
  • In Recommendation screen when user click on cancel button. Cancel popup should be displayed on the page.
  • When user clicks on Yes button it should be navigated to recommendation home screen page.
  • When user clicks on “No” button it should be navigated to new recommendation home page.
  1. How to edit Recommendation in Risk assessment product?
  • Click on Risk Register module.
  • Click on Recommendation sub module.
  • Recommendation home page should be displayed on the page.
  • Click on View details icon in recommendation home page screen
  • Edit Recommendation page should be displayed on the page.
  • Go to Action Column and also from view details screen.
  • Click on the Edit Symbol to change the Recommendation with following fields such as
    • Recommendation
    • Recommendation Category
    • Status Type
    • Details
    • Initial Cost
    • Annual Maintenance Cost
    • Recommendation Owner
    • Priority
    • Control Effectiveness
    • Recommendation Type
    • Life Time
    • Life Time(In Years)
  • Click on ‘Save’ button
  • Recommendation Updated successfully message should be displayed on the page.
  • Updated Recommendation should be displayed in recommendation home screen.
  1. Can we delete the Recommendation in Risk Assessment product?
  • Yes, we can delete recommendation from recommendation home page & from edit recommendation page.
  • When user wants to delete a recommendation please follow below procedure:
  • Click on Risk Register module
  • Click on Recommendation screen module
  • Go to Action Column
  • Click on the Delete Symbol
  • Popup message should be displayed
  • Click on “Yes” button
  • Selected recommendation should be deleted.
  • Successful message should be displayed on the page.
  • Click on view details icon in recommendation home page.
  • Edit Recommendation page should be displayed.
  • Click on Delete button.
  • Delete Popup should be displayed.
  • Click on “yes” button.
  • Recommendation should be deleted successful message should be displayed.
  • When user trying to delete any mapped recommendation for an assessment error message should be displayed already it is in use please remove mappings and delete the assessment.
  1. How to do in active in the recommendation home page in Risk Assessment product?
  • Click on risk register module.
  • Click on Recommendation sub module.
  • Go to Action Column
  • Click on the Right Symbol to inactive the recommendation.
  • We can inactivate the recommendation from edit screen also by selecting from the status column.
  1. How to search the specific Recommendation from the Grid in risk register module in risk assessment product?
  • You can get the specific record from the grid by using search field as shown below.
  • When user enters valid data in search field in recommendation home page relevant data should be displayed on the page.
  • When user enters invalid data in search field in recommendation home page no records found message should be displayed on the page.
  1. Can we excel export Recommendation data in risk register sub module in risk assessment product?
  • Yes, we can excel export recommendation data by clicking on excel export link in recommendation home page.
  • To download the excel export sheet follow the below procedure:
  • Click on Risk Register module link.
  • Click on Recommendation sub module link.
  • Recommendation sub module home page should be displayed.
  • Click on excel export link.
  • Excel sheet should be downloaded on the page.
  1. Can we hide/seek Recommendation screen columns in risk register module in risk assessment product?
  • Yes, We can check/uncheck columns in recommendation home page.
  • Follow the below procedure how to check / uncheck columns in recommendation screen:
  • Click on Risk Register module.
  • Click on Recommendation sub module.
  • Recommendation home page should be displayed.
  • Go to Right side of the screen
  • Click on See/hide column
  • Check from the list selected columns displayed on the screen
  1. Recommendations Events:

Events show the information of all the logs of the Recommendations created, updated and deleted. When Recommendation is created, Events Action Performed is displayed as ‘Create’. When Recommendations is edited, events action performed displayed as ‘Updated’ and when Recommendation is deleted, events Action Performed displayed as ‘Delete’.

Following functionality available in Recommendations events screen

  1. Search option available by searching any word or text, if search text is available, it will display the search content.
  2. Download Excel Export in excel sheet.
  3. Column display options available using hide/seek columns, if columns are not selected columns will not display in Recommendation events in risk register in risk assessment product.
