The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation's predominant standard-setting and accrediting body in health care, and recently released standards related to the security of hospitals and healthcare organizations.
RiskWatch Hospital Security includes a simple web-based questionnaire application that can be used to survey wide groups of adm inistrative staff, security officers and clinical staff electronically and compile their answer instantly.
It contains a comprehensive checklist based on the Joint Commission standards, the IAHSS Standards, Forensic standards, Environment of Care and Conditions of Participation, and Workplace Violence. It assists hospitals in assessing their patient safety and security, and demonstrates compliance with Joint Commission standards.
